About

Welcome to Cloth & Roll.

This blog is where we deep dive into relevant ideas and concepts around making. We discuss everything from sewing techniques and in depth construction process, to textile and book reviews, mending, and social and environmental awareness. This space will engage with the making community to help bring together and share the vast collective knowledge we all have.

We will also work to highlight particular makers and businesses that are producing engaging content and ideas and provide a space for their work and words to flourish.

I’m Jacqui. I’ve been a freelance costume maker working in the film, tv, and theatre industry for 10 years. I studied the practical elements of costume making such as pattern making, draping, tailoring, millinery, and art finishing, over three years full time in Sydney. I’m fascinated by textiles, making, and finishing techniques and love being a part of the global sewing community. Find me @jacqlucey_makes on instagram.
